Washington, DC – APG President and CEO Susan Dentzer has joined the Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network’s Accountable Care Action Collaborative (ACAC), that organization, known as HCP-LAN, has announced. ACAC members are health care leaders who work with the LAN — public and private health care leaders working to accelerate adoption of alternative payment models — to advance accountable care, the LAN’s various initiatives, and application of best practices in delivery and payment of value-based care.
“I’m excited to join many distinguished colleagues on the ACAC to advance the critically important movement to accountable care,” Dentzer said. “There is no higher purpose today in U.S. health care than to reshape our flawed system into one that delivers on the promise of greater health, better quality of care, and more affordable costs for patients.
“The work of the ACAC is more important than ever as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services moves toward the goal of having 100 percent of Traditional Medicare beneficiaries in an accountable care relationship with their health care providers by 2030, just seven years from now.”
APG member groups treat more than 30 percent of all enrollees in Medicare Advantage; are among the nation’s leading participants in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (the largest accountable care initiative in the country); work with Medicaid managed care organizations to serve millions of Medicaid patients; and are also engaged in numerous other alternative payment models, including the Enhancing Oncology Model and the Kidney Care First model. “As such, APG’s mission and that of our members is completely synchronous with the LAN’s and ACAC’s work, and we look forward to being a part of it,” Dentzer said.
