WASHINGTON, DC — The Board of Directors of America’s Physician Groups (APG) has elected Niyum Gandhi, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Treasurer at Mass General Brigham (MGB), as Chair-Elect of APG’s Board of Directors. Gandhi will succeed Anas Daghestani, MD, APG’s current Board Chair, when he begins his two-year term as Chair on January 1, 2025.
“Niyum is a passionate thought leader who brings a wealth of experience in value-based care and population health,” said Daghestani, who is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Austin Regional Clinic (Texas). “His contributions and commitment to APG’s success and advocacy, through his current role on the APG Board, have been measurable and invaluable.”

At MGB, located in Boston, MA, Gandhi is responsible for the financial oversight of the integrated health system, its hospitals, health plan, and academic enterprise. He also manages MGB’s corporate finance, managed care, real estate, supply chain, and treasury.
Prior to joining Mass General Brigham, Gandhi was CFO and Chief Population Health Officer at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York, where he oversaw the financial operations of the organization’s eight hospitals and the Icahn School of Medicine. His many accomplishments in his role leading population health and consumer solutions included building Mount Sinai’s clinically integrated network, its direct-to-employer business unit, and its consumer digital function. He also served on the APG Board at that time and was key to bringing MGB into APG’s membership when he moved there in 2021.
Gandhi received his AB in economics from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. He is the latest in a line of distinguished APG Board Chairs dedicated to the cause of value-based health care, and who have a background as physician leaders or health care administrative experts, or both.
