Michael Martin, MD

Dr. Martin graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Suma Cum Laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara and went on to complete medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. In 2005, he completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego, earning the American Academy of Pediatrics Resident Excellency Award. Since 2005, Dr. Martin has been with Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group (SRSMG) in the Division of Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, serving as Division Chief from 2012 to 2022. He has held leadership roles including the SRS Call Center Committee, Tier 1 Transformation Leader, COVID Vaccine Task Force, Board of Directors member, and Site Lead for the Carmel Del Mar location.

In 2006, Dr. Martin joined the Physician’s Advisory Council for Philanthropy, leading to his involvement with the Sharp Healthcare Foundation (SHCF) Board of Directors (2014-present), the SHCF Executive Committee (2020-present), and serving as SRSMG Philanthropy Chair (2014-present), and serving on the SRSMG Board of Directors from 2014-2020.

Dr. Martin will be assuming the role of President of Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group as of January 1, 2025, and is looking forward to leading this incredible organization with its patient centric, coordinated care model through the coming challenges and evolving landscape of healthcare in California.
